I know the c40 is good but like the hifi hobby.. there's a cost of diminishing returns. You pay a lot for tiny improvements. I'm basing this off a comparison to the k ultra. It's a subjective.. but $100+ for probably a <5% improvement isn't worth it to me.

It's interesting how Kyle's description of the cup on the left changes from "little more sweeteness" (when he thought it was the more expensive C40) to "little bit more astringency" (when he knew that it was the cheaper Q2). Admittedly, he does highlight their similarity and his inconfidence in his judgement.

Any recommendations between DF 64V or the or 78S? I’ve gone as far as purchasing and canceling both models simply because I just can’t decide. Plan is to use it as a multipurpose grinder for both pour over and espresso on the flare 58.

It would have been great if you could’ve checked the grinding temperatures. The cheap grinders are getting too hot.

This is one of the most useless things I have seen in a while. It’s only second to a WiFi connected washing machine or toaster. Honestly, my morning routine is not that precise that I couldn’t wait for a kettle to boil. I need a couple of minutes anyways to prepare everything else for making coffee. All I see is yet another “smart” device to backdoor my home WiFi network.

Ive pre-ordered the 078s as I do 90% espresso and then do filter, and aeropress sometimes... also the decent DE-1 espresso machine with the filter v3 basket, you need a grinder that can go coarse enough, 078s can...

Great video! I feel like if you had a non goose neck kettle, you could use a pouring shower screen or a non heating goose neck pot, that you would transfer your hot water to, for easier control.

I just picked up a pre-owned Robot on eBay. It’s the barista model with pressure gauge, extra basket, and tamper. Color is a basic matte black, which is my favorite. I have really wanted one for a few years now, and am so excited to receive it! The flair 58 is beautiful no doubt, but it’s a much larger footprint. I have the Flair Classic, and although I can get decent espresso out of it, the workflow and thermal management is not the best, sorry to say… (I still do love my fully modded Gaggia Classic Pro 💕)
